Note: Kappa Psi Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every Month at 12pm

Kappa Psi was founded on May 30, 1879 at the Russel Military Academy in New Haven CT. It is the oldest and largest pharmaceutical fraternity today, with more than 70 active collegiate chapters and 43 graduate chapters.

The Kappa Psi chapter at Palm Beach Atlantic University is Delta Upsilon. Delta Upsilon was installed as a chapter on May 3, 2003, less than two years after the first students entered the pharmacy program here at PBA. Since then, the brothers of the Delta Upsilon chapter have been working towards making our chapter the premiere chapter in the country. Our brothers strive to maintain high academic achievements, and work towards common goals; the advancement of pharmacy as a profession, and the advancement of our community through professional service. We believe that the development of leadership skills is of high importance, and work to develop these skills in every Kappa Psi brother.

Fellowship is another virtue of the Delta Upsilon chapter of Kappa Psi, it is very important to have fellowship if a fraternity is to be a true brotherhood. We feel social development goes hand in hand with professional development, so we encourage group participation in all activities, where appropriate, and schedule regular social events during each semester to take away from the stress of daily life in pharmacy school.

Delta Upsilon also participates in various community service projects, it is important to give back to the community that supports you. If a community is to grow, it will need the support of those within it.

In 6 years, Delta Upsilon has grown to 61 brothers and 41 alumni strong. At PBA, we hold many Class Representative positions, including 2 of the 4 Class President Positions. Delta Upsilon is making a great name for Kappa Psi at PBA, Province IV and nationally!

Rush Info

Kappa Psi is looking for pharmacy students who are committed to making a difference in the community. We want pledges that are interested in becoming active members of Kappa Psi, who desire to make Delta Upsilon the most prestigious chapter in all Kappa Psi, just as we do, and who are committed to the aims and high ideals of the Fraternity. We are looking for leaders, and for brothers. Membership in Kappa Psi is for life, it is an honor that should not be taken lightly. Pledges are chosen based on character, scholarship, and several other aspects. The pledge process is not a walk in the park, we really do pledge, this means we don't just take everyone that puts their name on a piece of paper. We take our pledge process seriously, and expect our pledges to do the same. There are things you must learn about the fraternity, and tasks you must complete, however, none of these tasks are intended to "break you down" or anything of that matter, and they will not be so demanding that they will get in the way of your school work. They are simple things designed to familiarize you with the fraternity, and your future brothers, and also to let us know who has the desire to improve the fraternity for the benefit of all members, just as the brothers of Kappa Psi do.

This policy is in place because we believe that a professional organization should build character, not just pad your resume.

Pledging is open to all pharmacy students, during any year of pharmacy school, regardless of sex, race, age, or religion with one exception: No member of any other professional fraternity may join kappa psi. Not even if they have been expelled from or have left the other fraternity. (Note: this does not include Social fraternities or Honor Societies) Representatives from Kappa Psi will be giving a presentation for new students along with the other fraternities at PBA during orientation week, we encourage you to ask any questions you have at that time and also to sign up if you are interested in pledging Kappa Psi.
